The Opportunity Cpl is actively recruiting for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a Global Leading Manufacturing business with HQ in Craigavon. Your new role The successful candidate will join the Shared Services Group legal team, where you will be the primary point of contact for day-to-day legal advice to the European Executive and Senior Leadership Team providing efficient, commercially focused legal advice for the business and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the European General Counsel and working closely with colleagues in the UK Group legal team to maximise synergies across the UK group and support the development of standardised processes and contracts where appropriate. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of high-value and complex commercial agreements, procurement frameworks and contracts, dispute management, property, competition law, regulatory matters and mergers and acquisitions work. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements with both customers and suppliers. Assisting, and providing legal guidance to the business teams in carrying out all legal, regulatory and contractual aspects of their responsibilities. Providing legal advice to support optimal outcome of litigation/regulatory disputes, including sourcing external advice where appropriate. Advising on compliance in relation to marketing, advertising and brand licence terms. Evaluating and weighing multiple inputs/impacts of decisions/courses of action and identifying proactive solutions to mitigate risks. Managing and interfacing with outside legal counsel where appropriate, including contributing to the management of a legal budget. Working with internal business partners on proactive legal training. Performing other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time. Essential Criteria: UK Qualified Solicitor or Barrister. Circa 8 years post qualification experience – given as a guide only. High calibre experience including working in a fast-paced, in-house legal team. Highly experienced corporate lawyer with the ability to manage a wide range of legal issues and accustomed to finding commercial solutions to legal problems. Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial & procurement contracts, with exposure to intellectual property, GDPR, antitrust, anti-bribery and other regulatory issues. Experience in developing and delivering internal training. Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships and relate to clients at all levels of the business. Ability to manage external professional advisers where required. Ability to achieve objectives within specific guidelines and constraints. Possesses flexibility to respond to rapidly emerging challenges and risks. Proven ability to work independently and accept ownership of issues, whilst also being an excellent team player. Ability to travel as required to meet the demands of the job across NI and GB. Full driving licence.
