An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join a facilities and engineering team. The role is responsible for ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational, while delivering effective electrical maintenance, fault finding, inspections, and planned preventative maintenance across site plant and equipment.
The Role
- Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and breakdown response on plant and equipment
- Ensure all electrical systems meet relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and codes of practice
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electrical documentation, including drawings and records
- Plan, prioritise, and schedule planned preventative maintenance activities
- Identify electrical safety risks and take proactive action to reduce hazards and downtime
- Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing better systems of work
- Install, relocate, dismantle, and modify machinery and electrical systems
- Carry out minor electrical installations such as lighting circuits
- Assist and escort external electrical contractors when required
- Accurately complete maintenance records using an asset or maintenance management system
Essential Criteria
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or earlier edition with willingness to update)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical maintenance and repair
- Ability to carry out electrical inspections, diagnose faults, and specify repair requirements
