An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SCADA Engineer to join a critical infrastructure environment. This role focuses on maintaining, developing and modernising SCADA and Energy Management Systems that provide real-time operational data to a 24/7 control centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, configure and troubleshoot SCADA and EMS systems, including substation and generation telemetry
  • Ensure real-time operational data is accurate, reliable and continuously available
  • Investigate and resolve system alarms and technical issues, escalating complex faults when required
  • Support response to major system incidents and restoration activities
  • Maintain backup, failover and disaster recovery systems
  • Keep SCADA/EMS databases, models and configurations up to date
  • Support commissioning of new substations, generators and network assets
  • Assist with testing and acceptance of vendor-supplied systems
  • Ensure systems comply with regulatory, cybersecurity and CNI requirements

Requirements

  • HNC / Level 4 qualification or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Systems, IT or similar
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA, EMS, telemetry or operational technology systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA communication protocols (IEC, DNP3, ICCP)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills in real-time environments
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Northern Ireland
  • Willingness to participate in standby and out-of-hours work
