A leading organisation operating within Northern Ireland's energy sector is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to join its Commercial and Regulatory team. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded professional to contribute to the delivery of critical regulatory and financial activities that support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Duties:

  • Lead and support regulatory projects, including price control implementation and regulatory reporting improvements.
  • Manage licence compliance activities, ensuring obligations are monitored, and submissions are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Provide regulatory input into market-related projects and wider organisational initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain processes to monitor organisational performance, service delivery outcomes, and budgetary/regulatory compliance.
  • Support tariff calculation and financial sustainability activities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators and key external stakeholders.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support across multiple business functions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of systems and reporting frameworks.
  • Support wider team objectives and organisational priorities as required.

Criteria:

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Business, Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and improving business processes.
  • Experience preparing business cases, impact assessments, or cost-benefit analyses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience using Power BI, Power Automate, or SharePoint Lists.
  • Experience working within a regulated industry, regulatory body, or the energy sector.
  • Knowledge of policy analysis, regulatory economics, or competition law.
  • Project-based experience or formal project management qualifications.
  • Financial modelling certification or related professional training.
