These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to the development of the electricity transmission network and play a key role in supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy future.
Working within a specialist Power System Planning team, successful candidates will support the safe and efficient integration of renewable generation, future demand growth, and emerging technologies while maintaining network security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct power system studies and technical analysis to identify network risks and opportunities
- Develop and assess transmission network reinforcement solutions
- Support long-term strategic and spatial energy planning initiatives
- Evaluate connection options for new generation, demand, and enabling technologies· Produce technical reports, standards, and industry documentation
- Build and maintain relationships with regulators, industry participants, and key stakeholders· Identify and implement improvements to planning processes, methodologies, and policies·Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain transmission network models Power System Planning Engineer Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant engineering or industry experience
- Strong interest in supporting the transition to a net-zero energy system

- Ability to analyse technical information and solve engineering problems Senior Power System Planning Engineer – Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant engineering or industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of power systems, transmission planning, and transmission equipment· Experience carrying out load flow and transient stability studies
- Experience analysing large datasets using Python
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
