CPL Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with our client for a European Energy Policy Senior Analyst on a permanent full-time basis, based in Belfast with a salary up to £55,000 per year.

Our client: A leader in electricity infrastructure that puts their employees at the forefront of everything they do, with a commitment to effectively meet Northern Ireland's energy needs.

The role: With a full copy of the Job Spec available on request, the European Energy Policy Senior Analyst will:

  • Play a key role in ensuring the organisation has a clear understanding of current and future European energy policy that impacts on our client.
  • Focus on the energy policy landscape at a European level and ensure full compliance in meeting its obligations under the EU network codes and regulations.
  • Ensure the Management team has full visibility of future EU energy policies and network codes and assess the implications on a NI and SEM basis.
  • Lead on engagement with government departments, relevant regulatory bodies and key industry stakeholders on EU energy related matters.
  • Coordinate our client's role within the various European energy bodies, engage across the organisation to ensure a consistent approach and coordinate with EirGrid on SEM related matters.

The person:

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a closely related discipline, and minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in policy analysis ideally within a European energy context.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities with attention to detail, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to summarise and communicate complex issues.
  • Ability to draft documentation in a rational, evidence-based, clear and concise manner.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills - ability to meet deadlines with high quality deliverables.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness and the proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to leverage these tools for data analysis, reporting, and professional documentation.
  • Demonstrated flexible working approach with ability to lead and prioritise a wide range of demands and activities whilst maintaining a professional and positive focus.
  • Ability to guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy.

On offer: Salary up to £55,000 per year and performance related bonus. Hybrid working TBD at interview. Private medical cover, and pension matching.
