An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and innovative Product Design Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering environment. This role offers the chance to work on user-centred designs within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Design Manager in planning and delivering design projects to agreed timelines and budgets
- Develop products from concept through to design freeze using 3D CAD
- Generate and communicate design concepts aligned to project briefs and user needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and external suppliers
- Manage and support prototyping and product testing activities
- Ensure all designs meet functional, performance, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and structured design documentation in line with company processes
- Participate in design and project review meetings, highlighting risks and resource requirements
- Carry out detailed research into user, market, and technical requirements
- Support technical queries from internal teams including product management and engineering
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a product design or engineering role
- Proven experience delivering products from concept through to production
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics and metal fabrication
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
