We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a successful manufacturing business. This hands-on role will focus on Accounts Payable and Payroll, so experience in both areas is essential. You will work closely with a supportive and knowledgeable finance team, gaining exposure to a variety of accounting processes and contributing to the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Process fortnightly payroll, including timesheets, variable pay, and payroll journals
- Prepare payroll and holiday accruals, and manage statutory deductions
- Reconcile supplier statements, company credit cards, and staff expenses
- Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payment runs, ensuring approvals and posting to the ERP system
- Upload purchase and payment documents to the document management system
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries
- Provide financial transaction reporting and support the Finance team with ad hoc tasks
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Experience processing payroll
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience using ERP and payroll systems
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet strict deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Accounting qualification or part-qualified status (e.g. IATI)
- Experience using Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365
- Experience with Sage Payroll
