Our client, a well-established and growing organisation within the manufacturing sector, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their finance team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making and driving financial performance.
Duties:
- Preparation, review and presentation of monthly divisional management accounts within strict reporting deadlines
- Reconciliation and review of balance sheet control accounts
- Conducting variance and trend analysis to identify risks and opportunities
- Reviewing and preparing statutory returns including VAT, Intrastat and VIES, ensuring compliance with Irish Revenue and HMRC requirements
- Supporting the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and assisting with statutory financial statements
- Assisting with annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Partnering with operational teams and wider business functions to provide financial insight and support strategic projects
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
- Identifying and supporting process improvements and strengthening financial controls
- Supporting internal audit activity, systems development and user testing programmes
Criteria:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within a fast-paced environment
- Manufacturing sector experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines
Package & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000

- Standard working hours: Monday Thursday: 8:00am 5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am 3:30pm, 39.5 hours per week
- Full-time office-based initially, with potential flexibility following probation.
