We are recruiting for a strong and experienced Registered Manager to open and lead a brand new 4-bed children’s residential EBD home in the DN9 area of Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident children’s residential leader who has the experience, judgement and resilience to take a new home through registration, build a team and establish a high-quality service from the ground up. The home will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs and will be a mixed-gender provision.
The role will involve:
- You will take responsibility for the successful opening, registration and ongoing leadership of the home, ensuring the service is safe, compliant and built around the needs of the young people.
- You will recruit, develop and lead the staff team, manage safeguarding and compliance, develop strong relationships with external professionals and ensure the home is fully prepared for Ofsted inspection.
- This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can work autonomously, make confident decisions and maintain high standards from day one.
Package includes:
- Basic salary of £54,080 per annum
- Potential to earn up to £64,280 through Ofsted and occupancy bonuses
- £3,000 bonus for an Outstanding Ofsted report
- £600 per month occupancy bonus
- Paid on-call: £25 per weekday and £35 per weekend
- 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a Registered Manager, or a very strong Deputy Manager ready for progression
- Ideally 2–3 years’ experience within a senior management role
- Strong experience within children’s residential EBD services
- Experience opening, registering or stabilising a children’s home would be highly desirable
- A track record of working within homes rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted
- Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding and quality standards
- Level 3 Children and Young People qualification, or equivalent
- Level 5 Leadership and Management completed, underway, or willingness to continue
- Ability to lead a team independently and confidently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with placing authorities, families and professionals
- Must be able to commute to the DN9 area
- Must be willing to travel to head office in Pontefract for interviews and manager meetings
