We are recruiting for a

Matron – Surgical Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across a high-performing surgical service in

West London .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Matron, Senior Nurse Manager or Theatre Services Leader to oversee multiple clinical areas, including:

  • Operating Theatres
  • Day Surgery

You’ll be responsible for driving clinical excellence, patient safety, workforce leadership, governance, quality improvement and operational performance while working closely with senior organisational leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior clinical leadership across surgical services.
  • Lead and support Heads of Department to ensure safe, effective patient care.
  • Drive clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensure CQC inspection readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Support endoscopy accreditation and quality standards.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment and staff development.
  • Improve patient flow, service utilisation and operational performance.
  • Champion an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical culture.

About You

We're looking for an experienced senior nurse who has

  • Current NMC Registration
  • Significant leadership experience within surgical services
  • Strong background in theatres, endoscopy or perioperative services
  • Experience leading governance, quality and patient safety programmes
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high-performing teams
