As a Deputy Manager in a Children’s Residential Home, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and the wider team to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people in our care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with day-to-day operations of the home.
  • Leading and supervising the care team, ensuring effective staff management, mentoring, and support.
  • Overseeing the implementation of individual care plans and ensuring children receive person-centered care.
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
  • Managing and developing a dedicated team, ensuring a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Monitoring and supporting staff performance and conducting regular supervisions.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
  • Managing rotas and budgets as required.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Residential Childcare.
  • NVQ Level 3/5 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People (or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
