CPL’s Health division are currently recruiting a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant for a special school in Buckinghamshire. My client is a multi-professional therapy practice, providing specialist Therapy Services to children aged 0-18 years. Children present with a variety of diagnoses, including Sensory Processing Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, attachment and trauma difficulties, global developmental delay or neurological disorders.

They follow a 3 step approach:

  • IDENTIFY: Following a comprehensive assessment package, areas of strength and challenge for the child will be identified.
  • EDUCATE: Equipped to share knowledge and educate everyone working with the child to ensure their unique needs are fully understood and supported.
  • ACCELERATE: A designated therapist will work with the school, family, and the child to provide personal therapy, individualised goals, and specific activity programmes to ensure therapy addresses their unique needs and supports them to reach their full potential.

This post will involve direct work with children and young people with Autism and other complex needs. The purpose of the role is to support Therapists, including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Physiotherapists in the provision and further development of high-quality therapeutic work. The post holder will implement a range of therapy interventions under the guidance of the relevant Therapist, which will involve producing therapy resources.
