Our client in Belfast is currently seeking an experienced SO Accountant to join their Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to contribute to a well-established organisation, supporting financial reporting, governance, and management accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Annual Reports and Accounts in accordance with HM Treasury and Department of Finance guidance, incorporating IFRS.
- Liaising with internal and external auditors, including the Northern Ireland Audit Office.
- Analysing financial data and producing monthly and/or quarterly management accounts.
- Providing professional advice on financial information, accounting requirements, and best practice.
- Drafting and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Supporting the management of financial processing functions and associated resources.
- Promoting strong governance and financial compliance across the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Be a full, current member of one of the following professional accounting bodies:
- Chartered Accountants Ireland
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS)
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
- Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland)
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Financial management/management accounting
- Financial accounting or auditing
- Development or implementation of financial systems
- Strategic planning or decision support within a finance or regulatory environment
