A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll and purchase ledger experience who is looking to develop their skills in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including data collection, processing (using payroll software), journals, and payments
- Support purchase ledger activities, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and handling queries
- Assist with month-end tasks such as supplier reconciliations and payment runs
- Provide occasional administrative support
- Undertake ad hoc finance tasks as required
Criteria
- Previous experience in payroll and/or accounts payable (purchase ledger)
- Working knowledge of accounting systems and processes
- Strong understanding of journals and nominal codes
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong organisational skills
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Access to your own transport and the ability to commute to Belfast
