  • Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for operating production equipment and manufacturing products safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Working as part of the Production team, you'll ensure production activities are completed in line with approved procedures, production schedules and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor production equipment and automated systems in line with approved procedures.
  • Dismantle, clean, inspect and reassemble production equipment and work areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and equipment performance.
  • Carry out routine in-process checks, product sampling and inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Complete production documentation and batch records accurately and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, reporting any incidents, near misses or equipment issues promptly.
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with GMP and company procedures.
  • Record production data and performance information to support production schedules, equipment utilisation and quality performance.
  • Carry out routine cleaning and sanitisation of production areas, including sinks, drains and equipment.
  • Support manual packaging activities when required.
  • Assist with quality investigations and help identify and resolve production issues.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Packaging, Warehouse, Quality and Engineering to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Support equipment maintenance activities and work alongside Engineering and approved contractors when required.
  • Contribute ideas for improving safety, quality, efficiency and ways of working.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, food or other regulated manufacturing environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Experience operating production equipment or machinery would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) would be advantageous; training will be provided where required.
