Role Overview

The Cabling Infrastructure Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ICT solutions and physical infrastructure, including telecommunications rooms and spaces. This role blends expertise in telecommunications, networking, and information systems to produce technical design documentation throughout the project lifecycle—from initial design through to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ICT infrastructure solutions including network systems
  • Create detailed technical specifications and drawings
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies
  • Develop network topology and architecture designs
  • Configure and optimize communication systems and networks
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide guidance
  • Produce documentation for implementation and maintenance
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies

  • This role is a backfill for a Leave of Absence
  • Provides technical support to CIT, especially in developing documentation like: Basis of Design (BOD), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Bulletins
  • These documents support Low Voltage Contractors (LVC), Design Consultants (DC), and stakeholders for Day 1 & Day 2 builds

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • BICSI RCDD certification or equivalent
  • 5+ years of telecommunications design experience prior to certification
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA/ISO & EN standards
