The role of Operational Technical Trainer will have the responsibility to manage, create and deliver training primarily for the production activities (Packaging and Manufacturing) at our clients Production facility in Hatfield and to support the wider teams to ensure training activities are completed compliantly in line with business requirements. The role as a technical trainer needs to create and develop the training programme designed to educate and upskill the Operators from onboarding and then continuous refresher and upskilling within the Production team through Instructor-Led, online training to develop employee skills, knowledge, understanding and competency. The individual is a training professional whose focus is to train and upskill the production teams and wider business within a GMP environment. The role is responsible for the operational technical training, whilst also supporting EHS and GMP training for the production operation.

Job Specific Responsibilities
- Develop, design, review and deliver the new starter induction and onboarding training programs within Production complying with GMP regulations and company SOP’s.
- Develop, own and deliver the program to up-skill, train and educate existing team members in best practice standards for performing practical and technical activities to work in a GMP environment in a safe manner, achieving product quality and compliance.
- Complete Operator on-the-job role specific training.
- Own and manage the training plan ensuring all training requirements are logged, scheduled and completed and training is planned and managed on the production schedule.
- Develop, create and maintain engaging training materials, including SWI’s, SOPs, videos, presentations and eLearning modules, manuals and assessments using a mixture of blended learning techniques in a variety of formats.
- Conduct skills gap analysis and deliver refresher training to maintain competence.
- Support and deliver Health and Safety training.
- Support and deliver GMP training.
- Support the train the trainer program.
- Support other production operators to complete training activities to ensure the training is consistent and includes knowledge and skill-based training.
- Complete training assessments and own the Trackwise training assessment records to ensure they are maintained and compliant.
- Escalate to the Production Management team any restrictions to training activities.
- Perform other responsibilities at the request of the Production Management team.
- Coordinate internal and external training, liaising with accredited providers.
- Measure training effectiveness through feedback, observations, and KPIs.
- Capture and maintain training metrics, ensuring Production remain in compliance.
- Analyse training data, identify trends, and support targeted action plans.
- Support production buddies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Job holder must possess very high levels of aptitude in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Good technical writing skills.
- Experience in using e-learning tools to support the delivery of training materials using multiple media types.
- Knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical packaging and manufacturing operations, including GMP knowledge.
- Good Communication skills across different levels in the organisation (e.g. Ops, OLT).
- Strong facilitation, coaching and presentation skills.
- Training qualification (CIPD, City of Guilds, Train the Trainer, or equivalent).
- Preferable experience in understanding adult learning principles such as ADDIE or Kirkpatrick.
- Knowledge of designing and delivering training and blended learning or equivalent experience.
- Collaborate with cross-function teams to foster a strong quality and continuous improvement mindset.
