This is a critical role when it comes to supporting compliance with UK EHS regulations and internal standards across R&D sites, helping maintain safe systems, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) are followed; review RAMS, issue permits, and stop unsafe work.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and track follow‑up actions.
- Support audits and perform regular workplace inspections.
- Maintain Declaration of Conformity documentation.
- Assist with risk assessments and implementation of safety measures.
- Participate in change control to assess and mitigate EHS risks.
- Conduct initial reviews of incidents, near misses, and good saves; support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage the UK R&D EHS inbox and contribute to safety communications.
- Support creation and review of EHS procedures and performance reporting.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of UK EHS regulations, risk assessments, incident investigation, SSOW.
- Strong organisation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Practical EHS experience; pharmaceutical experience beneficial.
