This is a critical role when it comes to supporting compliance with UK EHS regulations and internal standards across R&D sites, helping maintain safe systems, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) are followed; review RAMS, issue permits, and stop unsafe work.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections and track follow‑up actions.
  • Support audits and perform regular workplace inspections.
  • Maintain Declaration of Conformity documentation.
  • Assist with risk assessments and implementation of safety measures.
  • Participate in change control to assess and mitigate EHS risks.
  • Conduct initial reviews of incidents, near misses, and good saves; support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage the UK R&D EHS inbox and contribute to safety communications.
  • Support creation and review of EHS procedures and performance reporting.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of UK EHS regulations, risk assessments, incident investigation, SSOW.
  • Strong organisation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Practical EHS experience; pharmaceutical experience beneficial.
