We’re supporting a leading organisation with the appointment of an Engineering Operations Technician to support the day-to-day running of a mission-critical data centre environment. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining uptime, supporting infrastructure, and ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate reliably within strict SLAs.
The Role
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you’ll act as an on-site technical resource responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems. You’ll be working in an environment where uptime is paramount (99.999%), supporting both planned maintenance and reactive troubleshooting across a range of systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical systems within the data centre
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level issues within defined SLAs
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including:
- HVAC preventative maintenance
- Filter changes
- Rack power installations
- PDU and ATS replacements
- Monitor system performance through daily checks (temperature, voltage, current, etc.)
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and incidents
- Support Data Centre Operations teams with technical issues
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations
