The Opportunity
We are seeking a Parts Inventory Planner to join a global organisation supporting the effective management and availability of critical spare parts and inventory across the business. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency by maintaining optimal stock levels, minimising shortages, supporting demand forecasting activities, and driving continuous improvement across inventory planning processes.
Working closely with Service, Technical Support, Sales, Procurement and Supply Chain teams, you will use data-driven insights to manage inventory performance, supplier delivery schedules and stock optimisation initiatives within a fast-paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventory planning strategies to ensure the availability of parts whilst optimising stock levels and reducing excess inventory.
- Analyse inventory trends, consumption patterns and demand forecasts to identify potential shortages, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor inventory performance and implement actions to improve stock availability and minimise supply chain disruption.
- Work closely with Service, Technical Support and Sales teams to understand business requirements and accurately forecast demand.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and escalate any quality, lead-time or supply issues where required.
- Review and maintain inventory planning parameters including safety stock levels, reorder points, lead times and order quantities.
- Produce regular inventory reports, dashboards and analysis for internal stakeholders, highlighting key trends, risks and performance metrics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across inventory management, planning processes and reporting capabilities.
- Ensure inventory records, planning data and system information are maintained accurately at all times.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers across multiple regions and functions.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in Inventory Planning, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Materials Planning or a similar supply chain role.
- Experience working within logistics, spare parts, manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environments.
- Good understanding of inventory management principles, forecasting techniques and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting and forecasting.
- Experience using Power BI, Power Query, SQL and SAP would be highly advantageous.
- Experience monitoring supplier performance and supporting inventory optimisation activities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
