Senior Engineer to support Operations Continuity & Transformation activities within a critical infrastructure environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the secure and reliable operation of the power system while supporting operational change, system resilience, and the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess power system performance to identify risks and support secure, reliable operation.
  • Support the investigation and analysis of system incidents and near misses, contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support compliance with Grid Code, EU Network Codes, and related regulatory obligations.
  • Provide technical analysis to support operational decision-making and system integrity.
  • Develop, validate, and utilise operational data, models, and reporting outputs.
  • Support metering and data assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of operational information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support operational objectives.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new tools, processes, and operational improvements.
  • Support the delivery of operational transformation initiatives and respond to emerging system issues.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a closely related discipline, supported by relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience working within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or policy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of power system operations and/or operational policy frameworks.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: system operations, performance monitoring, incident analysis, operational policy, compliance, metering, reporting, modelling, or technical analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving operational processes and procedures.
