Flexsource NI are currently recruiting for a Scientific Officer on a temporary full-time basis covering the Belfast area, paying £20.02 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out environmental monitoring programmes, surveys and investigations.
  • Undertake chemical or physical sample analysis of water samples, prepare and package samples for transport.
  • Undertake manual water level measurements within leachate and groundwater boreholes.
  • Download, analyse and interpret monitoring data from automatic water level dataloggers.
  • Monitor and adjust landfill gas extraction plant and balance gas extraction wells to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Prepare comprehensive, scientific based reports and consultation briefs as required and be able to supervise the work of contractors and consultants.
  • Carry out calibration, maintenance and repair of environmental monitoring equipment and data loggers as required.

Requirements:

  • A third level qualification in a science related subject such as Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least one years experience in a similar position which includes; environmental water sampling and landfill gas management.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for official business.
