Project Procurement Lead
Location: Slough/Reading
Duration: 12 months
Pay rate: Up to £53.45 per hour
Hours: 40 per week

The Project Procurement Lead manages procurement activities for assigned investment projects and coordinates planning and execution at the Reading site (also at other sites). The Project Procurement Lead holds strategic responsibility for procurement of goods & services for the construction of manufacturing, laboratory & office facilities for projects of values between £5 million and £500 million.
Key responsibilities:
– Development of Procurement Execution Strategy and coordination of procurement activities for assigned investment projects.
– End-to-end commercial ownership of procurement, expediting, contract management & closeout of contracts for;
o Goods: Process equipment, electrical equipment, AHU’s, black utilities pumps & valves, lab equipment, furniture, consumables, pumps & automation systems and spare parts for above
o Services such as: Construction, piping, HVAC, electrical & cleanroom fit-out, consulting, engineering and planning
– Active management of the Procurement Master Plan (PMP) during project execution to ensure timely project reporting, identification & mitigation of risks
– Close collaboration with a multitude of stakeholders such as:
o Procurement team (category owners, buyers, order managers & contract managers)
o Procurement management & category management
o Project Director or Managers, engineers & subject matter experts dedicated to projects
o Support functions such as Quality, EHS, Legal, Finance, HR etc.
o Key third party collaborators including EPCM, EPC or main trade or equipment suppliers
Key requirements:
– Capex project / procurement management – pharma / biotech sectors preferred.
– Experience in plant construction as well as in the areas of procurement, sales, contract
– Team player with ability to communicate & work efficiently in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams
– Excellent business mindset, strategic, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
– Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar in process, chemical, mechanical, civil or plant engineering an advantage
MUST have experience:
– Procurement on large CAPEX projects, pharmaceutical sector preferred
Languages:
– Required: English fluent; Advantage: German
