Reporting to the Senior Production Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for the reliable and GMP-compliant operation of the production-related equipment on manufacturing and packaging machinery within the facility at Hatfield.

- Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of all production, manufacturing, and packaging equipment to meet production priorities and GMP compliance.
- Apply Good Manufacturing and Engineering Practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Develop, review, and update procedures, job plans, certificates, and standards.
- Set maintenance regimes, implementing preventative, runtime, and reactive strategies.
- Supervise external contractors and equipment vendors.
- Modify plant, manufacturing equipment, and services as needed.
- Assess critical spare requirements, order parts, and plan shutdowns and workloads.
- Report equipment failures.
- Coordinate and participate in risk assessments and method statements for specified work.
- Investigate deviations to define corrective and preventative actions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Comply with all relevant SOPs, cGMP, and safety standards.
- Work flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Implement change control notifications.
- Support production, technical, and quality teams as required.
- Operate the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Advise on equipment selection and collaborate with the technical department to ensure reliable solutions.
- Participate in commissioning activities to ensure equipment operates according to design intent and that installation and qualification are executed smoothly.
- Hold relevant technical qualifications such as a City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent.
- Possess fault-finding skills and the ability to document clearly and neatly.
- Be multi-disciplined with a determination to understand breakdown root causes and prevent re-occurrence.
- Prioritize and plan own work effectively.
- Be computer literate and demonstrate a growth mindset.
- Maintain good communication and interpersonal skills.
