The role: With a full copy of the Job Spec available on request, the Design Manager will:
- Have full responsibility for overseeing all project design, always ensuring compliance.
- Programme and manage the design process from tender stage through to preferred bidder to construction stages with management and influencing skills.
- Manage design and commercial risk with an eye on making the most of all value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project teams, CDM coordinator and ensuring all designs meet regulatory and statutory requirements such as Planning Conditions, Building Control and BREEAM.
- Review and implement requirements with a flair for being cost effective.
The person:
- Qualification in Construction, Technical Design or related discipline – HND minimum.
- 3 years minimum working in the construction space.
- Confident in dealing with clients, site teams and subcontractors; an excellent communicator verbal and written along with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- A record in being able to work on several projects simultaneously, while able to meet deadlines.
- IT proficiency.
- Current, valid UK driving licence.

- Salary expected around £40,000 - £50,000
