Civil Engineering Assistant

CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Assistant (PTO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract with possibility of extension.

·Pay Rate – £16.45 per/hr

·Location – DfI, Strangford Ferry

·Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum

·Hours – 37 hours per week

Responsibilities will include: –

1.Ferry support – Assist Ferry Manager/Harbour Master and senior management team as and when required.

2.Ticketing system – Liaise with TransMach, maintain and update system as and when required, investigate ticket machine faults and resolve issues with smartcards.

3.SMS system – Liaise with NI Direct, investigate faults and ensure register is populated.

4.CCTV – Backup CCTV footage as and when required from ferry terminal or either vessel.

5.Vehicle/Passenger Count Audits – Carry out a CCTV vehicle audit and a passenger count audit for each crew monthly, report back to management and further investigate if required.

6.QMS – Carry out a QMS review and make changes to procedures when required.

7.Website updates – Update Ferry NI Direct pages as when required.

8.NI Direct Scripts and IP Telephony – Update scripts when required and liaise with NI Direct account management team.

9.Advertisements/flyers – Source when required.

10.Disaster recovery tests / Health checks – organise annual health checks of IT systems, liaise and assist ISB with disaster recovery testing.

11.Assist PFSO and DPFSO with port facility security duties when required

12.Data requests – compile reports on tickets sales and passenger numbers when required.

13.Conduct an annual review of the ferry terminal filing system and adhere to the Departmental disposal policies and procedures.

14.Assist Ferry Manager with premises officer duties/terminal maintenance aspects through the Amps Concerto System.

15.Assist the maintenance supervisor / oversee as necessary with the generation of pre-planned maintenance jobs cards and updating the pre-planned maintenance PC in the ferry terminal.

Essential Criteria:

·Must have at least a Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering, and 6 months experience in an engineering field.
