Flexsource NI are currently recruiting for a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant on a temporary full time basis
Responsibilities
- Receive, check, and accurately record pharmacy deliveries, maintaining stock levels through proper shelving, rotation, and expiry date management in line with departmental SOPs.
- Assemble and issue ward orders, IV fluids, procedure packs, and bulk top-up supplies, ensuring accurate documentation and timely distribution to wards and departments.
- Support the safe and compliant handling, dispensing, and delivery of medicines, including controlled drugs and vaccines, to hospital and community users.
- Maintain accurate records using pharmacy computer systems (e.g., JAC), and assist in processing returns and managing stock discrepancies.
- Provide customer service at the pharmacy reception and over the phone, resolving queries or escalating to appropriate staff when needed.
- Participate in aseptic unit cleaning and preparation, as well as broken pack dispensing and pre-packing tasks as required.
- Contribute to staff training, SOP development, and implementation of new technologies, including the use of pharmacy robots and inventory systems.
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, infection control, and medicines legislation, ensuring clean workspaces and adherence to Trust policies.
Requirements
- 5 GCSE’s grade A‑C, to include English and Maths
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or BTEX Level 2 certificate in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff or equivalent qualifications would be beneficial
- At least 1 years previous experience in a similar role
