A growing international payments technology business is looking for a senior sales leader to drive revenue growth across the UK and Ireland. This is a key leadership role for a commercially strong, solutions-led sales professional with a proven track record in payments, POS technology or customer-present payment solutions. You will take ownership of regional sales activity, lead new business development, grow strategic partnerships and help expand market share in a business entering an exciting new phase of growth.

The company has an established reputation for secure payment technology and mobile acceptance solutions, with a strong international footprint and ambitious plans to build on its hardware success through further investment in software and services.

The role

You will be responsible for driving new and existing business across the UK and Ireland, identifying new revenue opportunities, building long-term client relationships and leading regional sales and marketing activity. A major focus of the role will be new business development. You will lead a small team, develop strategic partner relationships, respond to RFI/RFP opportunities and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the business is well positioned to win in a competitive and evolving payments landscape. You will also play an important role in feeding market insight back into the product team, helping shape future solution development in line with customer and market needs. This is a hybrid role linked to the company’s UK headquarters, with flexibility around office attendance and travel to client sites as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth across the UK and Ireland through new business and existing account development
  • Lead a solution-selling approach across the payments and POS technology space
  • Build, develop and manage strategic partnerships and distribution relationships
  • Identify new market opportunities and routes to revenue growth
  • Support and lead formal and informal RFI/RFP responses
  • Represent the business in the market and help build a strong, high-quality sales pipeline
  • Work closely with internal product, operations, finance and technical teams
  • Deliver compelling commercial proposals and customer business cases
  • Contribute to wider global sales activity, reporting and planning

About you

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in direct sales or business development
  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem
  • Proven background in payments, POS technology or related payment solutions
  • Strong new business mindset with the ability to open, develop and win strategic opportunities
  • Comfortable selling to both commercial and technical stakeholders
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Able to work at pace, manage multiple priorities and operate in a growth environment
  • Experience working across different markets and cultures within EMEA would be an advantage
  • Good CRM capability
  • Excellent written and spoken English
