This is a rare opportunity for an up-and-coming field sales professional to benefit from best-in-class training and development and join a market leader as an Area Sales Manager. This opportunity will suit an Area Sales Manager / Territory Sales Manager who wants to cut their teeth in specification sales. There will be career prospects into middle management and senior sales roles for the right person.
The Role of Area Sales Manager
This is a field/home-based role covering the area of Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and Hampshire. As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for winning and tracking specifications from architect to main contractor and sub-contractor, championing the company's leading range of render systems, external wall insulation, concrete repair, and screeds. The Area Sales Manager will work on both commercial and residential projects (new build and refurb), therefore there will also be some time spent with house builders. This role will suit an all-rounder, as you will be dealing with all decision-makers including Estimators, Project Managers, Architects, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Owners.
The Candidate
My client is looking for a candidate that has construction field sales experience either with a distributor, wholesaler, merchant, or manufacturer. While specification sales isn't a pre-requisite, it is advantageous if you understand the specification process from architect to main contractor to sub-contractor to distributor. This is considered an entry-level specification role, so we are looking for an Area Sales Manager that is early on in their career, keen to progress and learn. Candidates that have worked for builders' merchants or insulation distributors (field sales) are of interest.
