The Role of Area Sales Manager
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be working with a number of independent and national Merchants (such as Travis Perkins, Jewsons) across the West Yorkshire area. You will be tasked with growing your account base by implementing new products, promotions, and generating demand with Contractors & Developers to grow sales across the region. Managing an area that turns over approx. £2M, you will be developing existing accounts as well as identifying new accounts that you will then go on to manage. You will work closely with the sales teams within your merchant accounts and go on joint visits aiming to generate more demand and thus revenue via the merchant channel. There are approx. 50 spending accounts in the region, many of which have multiple branches in their network for you to take advantage of. You will be selling a range of external building products/plastics used across a variety of applications such as Civil Engineering, Housebuilding, and Commercial Building. All sales will be back-sold through the merchant network so a strong understanding of this route to market is key for this position. As Area Sales Manager, you will build relationships at all levels from Trade Counter through to Regional Director within the Merchants and at all levels within the Contractor End-User client base.
