# Funeral Director – Heritage & Sons, WendoverFull time, £26,000.00 – £30,000.00 (depending on experience)Creating a working environment where both colleagues and clients get what they need. Demonstrating the company’s values at all times and guided by CPJ Field & Co’s Moments of Truth.Location: Various Specific roles and duties: • Champion for the C.P.J. Field & Co. Way of arranging funerals and giving customer service. • Meeting customers at locations other than those of the Company • Managing all matters financial in relation to the funeral; including responsibility for collection of debts • Promoting the business within the local community and encouraging colleagues to do likewise • Provide holiday and sickness cover for colleagues based at other funeral homes • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and other relevant legislation • Advocate the CPJ Field Values and Moments of Truth **Skills & Experience:** • Responsible for collaborating with all Funeral Directors & colleagues to maximise the success of their funeral home • Understand and champion the Company’s standard of performance in every role and where necessary mentor, coach, discipline and praise colleagues on their work and where required teach colleagues • Set quality performance goals for teams and for colleagues in their work • Organising the funeral home on a minute-by-minute basis to deliver for customers • Be the Guardian of standards ensuring that all colleagues contribute their best; good communication (listening, questioning, challenging, briefing, praising and team problem-solving) is key to this • “Lead by example” in the funeral home working alongside colleagues, demonstrating & living the standard of performance required by the Company as well as organising the work and people so they can deliver exceptional service • Be critical friend to other Funeral Directors and colleagues in cases where their desire to deliver is not helping others to, or where their performance is less than their best • Organise the funeral home to support colleagues in terms of work and communication • Demonstrate the attitude needed to do a great job; positive, proactive, team spirited, dynamic & open to learning, innovative • Be responsible for appraising colleagues fairly and constructively and where necessary putting in place actions to restore the efficiency of failing colleagues • Be the client’s main point of contact; arrange and conduct the funeral (with the support of the wider team) • Lead the funeral service crew and ceremonial crew on the funeral ceremony and make sure that all necessary information is given to and understood by the funeral service team**Job Disclaimer:**This job description includes additional commitments required of a FD and should be read in conjunction with the TFD job description.
