CPI has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Warehouse Coordinator to join its established and growing team. The successful individual will be primarily based in Newton Aycliffe, with flexibility to travel to all North-East CPI locations (Wilton, Sedgefield, Darlington, Newton Aycliffe) as required. A full UK driving licence or access to transport is essential.
The Junior Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the warehouse operating areas in delivering safe, effective, and efficient warehousing and inventory control in support of project delivery. Most responsibilities will be carried out using computer-based systems. Key tasks will include:
- Managing compliance with safety, housekeeping, and quality systems to maintain documented compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality and best practice requirements.
- Using different computer systems within the warehouse environment to enable stock management.
- Assisting with stock management such as maintaining visibility of stock levels, reordering stock, location updating, correct labelling, and maintaining spreadsheet data.
- Understanding the flow of raw materials and consumables throughout the facility including goods in, warehouse storage, distribution to laboratories, and goods out.
- Ensuring that raw materials and consumables are allocated to the correct projects for accurate cost capture.
- Reviewing and maintaining the warehouse and associated equipment.
- Maintaining accountability of all goods in/out movements to ensure inventory control.
- Packaging items for safe delivery to customers or vendors and liaising with carriers.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of GCSE level 4 (or equivalent) in Maths or English.
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience working within a warehouse environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- The ability to plan work on a daily basis and be proactive in their approach.
- Effective communication skills with a wide range of people.
- A strong attention to detail and desire to complete work to a high standard.
- A professional attitude to work, maintaining timekeeping, respect, and reliability.
It would be advantageous to have:
- A Level 1 or 2 academic or vocational qualification (or equivalent) in subjects related to warehousing.
- Experience of supply chain management systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint.
- Experience in chemical material handling.
- A valid forklift truck licence.
