My client is a growing specialist engineering services business operating within refrigeration controls, HVAC monitoring and energy optimisation. Supporting commercial clients nationwide, they deliver design, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service & maintenance solutions.
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an organised and proactive Service Scheduler to join their busy Service Department. This is a key coordination position responsible for efficiently planning and deploying field engineers while maintaining high standards of customer communication.
You will optimise travel routes, manage engineer workloads, coordinate service requests, and ensure jobs are delivered efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and coordinate service appointments for field engineers
- Optimise engineer travel routes to maximise productivity and efficiency
- Allocate jobs based on skill set, location, urgency and availability
- Liaise daily with engineers to manage workloads and shifting priorities
- Handle inbound customer enquiries and outbound appointment bookings
- Provide clear job updates and manage customer expectations professionally
- Coordinate repair appointments, parts follow-ups and re-attendance planning
- Monitor and manage Work in Progress (WIP) to ensure timely job completion
- Identify and support improvements to scheduling processes
- Experience working in a busy service or engineering environment
- Proven experience scheduling field-based engineers
- Strong customer service skills, including handling challenging conversations confidently and professionally
- Experience using scheduling or service management software (SICON desirable; Business Central advantageous)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Calm under pressure with strong prioritisation skills
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability
