My client is a leading mechanical contractor specialising in new build projects across housing, care homes, and commercial developments throughout the South East. With an excellent reputation for quality and reliability, they work with top developers and main contractors.
The Role: They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the mechanical package on new build projects from pre-construction to completion. You’ll manage all site activities, coordinate with consultants and supply chain partners, and ensure their projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to a high standard of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical works on multiple new build sites (£500k–£3m)
- Lead teams for installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and design standards
- Control budgets, plan resources, and monitor project progress
- Produce project documentation and liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience managing mechanical services on new build projects
- Technical knowledge of heating, hot & cold water, ventilation, and renewable technologies (e.g., heat pumps, underfloor heating)
- Understanding of mechanical design, technical drawings, and installation methods
- Familiarity with building regulations, CDM, and industry standards (CIBSE, BESA)
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating (Level 3 preferred), SMSTS/SSSTS/IOSH, CSCS card
