Position Summmary
Our company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for identifying and assessing potential safety hazards, developing and implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance will all safety regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety, preferable in data center service operations, and a passion for promoting a safety and healthy work environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and risks for battery maintenance and installation, HVAC, data center facility operations, commissioning, and construction activities.
- Investigate incidents to determine their root causes and develop corrective action plans.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety issues and protocols.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety integration. Provide guidance and support to ensure that safety practices are integrated into daily operations and facilitate open communication regarding safety concerns.
- Assist with emergency preparedness by conducting training and drills.
- Monitor fire extinguishers and AEDs at all local facilities.
- Monitor and review safety performance metrics to identify trend areas for improvement.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience (Desired)
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of progressive experience in EHS in general industry and/or construction, preferably with data center maintenance, service and facility operations experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location.
- OSHA 30 General Industry and/or Construction trainer, or ability to become a trainer.
- CPR/First aid training experience is a plus
- Knowledgeable with NFPA 70E, DOT, and environmental compliance is a plus.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and can follow reporting processes. Communicate effectively with client safety teams when necessary regarding incidents and other action items.
- Experience with JHAs, SOPs, MOPS, technical reports and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Computer Skills
- Knowledge with experience using Microsoft Office and ability to navigate various software platforms.
Certificates And Licenses
- BCSP credentials are a plus (CHST, CSP, etc.)
