An established and highly regarded M&E and Facilities Management provider is seeking an experienced FM Estimator to join its commercial and bid team. With a strong focus on public sector delivery, particularly within healthcare and education, the business is committed to driving growth through competitive tendering and high-quality solution development.
This is a pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for developing accurate, commercially viable pricing solutions that support the successful win of new contracts, typically ranging from £250k to £2m per annum.
Key Responsibilities- Lead pricing activity across Facilities Management bids, taking full ownership of the commercial submission.
- Develop and manage end-to-end pricing models, including labour loading, cost planning, scenario modelling, and subcontractor pricing.
- Translate operational solutions into robust and competitive commercial proposals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to gather information and pricing in line with tender deadlines.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities within bids.
- Support governance and bid review processes, clearly articulating pricing methodology and decisions.
- Contribute to mobilisation planning, including transition and cost validation.
- Continuously enhance pricing models, methodologies, and bid processes.
- Ensure compliance with bid/no-bid procedures and escalate risks where required.
- Support Business Development Managers and Bid Managers throughout the full sales lifecycle.
- Manage multiple bid deadlines effectively, ensuring high-quality submissions.
- Deliver both compliant and variant bid models where required.
- Complete all client pricing documents and provide clarifications for submission.
- Evaluate operational and commercial risks prior to bid submission.
- Strengthen and diversify the subcontractor and supply chain network.
- Support contract handover and mobilisation processes following successful bids.
- Identify opportunities for contract optimisation and highlight risk areas during transition.
- Support adherence to Health & Safety standards within proposals.
- Proven experience in pricing and estimating FM contracts, ideally within healthcare, education, or public sector environments.
- Strong understanding of hard FM services, including SFG20 planned maintenance regimes.
- Knowledge of HTMs and public sector bidding frameworks.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to develop detailed and accurate pricing models.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Experienced in working within bid teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Operational awareness to complement technical and commercial decision-making.
