We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join a high-profile delivery team in Edinburgh. This is a long-term freelance role overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and public health services for a diverse portfolio of landmark developments right in the heart of the city.
The Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of MEP services on a mix of large-scale commercial offices and high-end residential schemes. Your focus will be on ensuring technical excellence, maintaining strict safety standards, and driving the programme to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage the installation and commissioning of MEP services from inception to handover.
- Sub-Contractor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for MEP sub-contractors, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
- Commercial Awareness: Monitor budgets, manage variations, and work closely with the QS team to ensure financial targets are met.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the Main Contractor’s site team and external consultants to resolve technical queries (RFIs) and design clashes.
- Compliance: Ensure all works meet H&S regulations and sustainability standards (BREEAM/Home Quality Mark).
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Proven track record as an MEP Project Manager on commercial or residential projects (ideally £5m+ MEP value).
- Local Knowledge: Experience working within Edinburgh city centre or similar urban environments is highly desirable.
- Qualifications: HNC/Degree in Building Services or a related engineering discipline. Valid SMSTS and CSCS Black Card are essential.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and a "boots on the ground" approach to problem-solving.
