The Role
We are looking for an experienced and organised Office Manager to join a well-established construction company in Edinburgh on a fixed-term contract for one year. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the office, providing administrative support to the wider construction and commercial teams and helping to ensure the business operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day running of the office
- Providing administrative support to site, commercial and management teams
- Coordinating correspondence, documents and office records
- Managing incoming calls, emails and general enquiries
- Assisting with purchase orders, invoices and basic financial administration
- Maintaining accurate filing and document control systems
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and clients where required
- Assisting with timesheets, expenses and general staff administration
- Coordinating meetings, appointments and office requirements
- Supporting site teams with administrative requirements
- Ordering office supplies and managing general office facilities
- Ensuring company procedures and administrative processes are followed
- Carrying out any other general office and administrative duties required
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Office Manager, Office Administrator or similar role
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A proactive and professional approach
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- The confidence to communicate with colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers
- Previous experience within the construction industry would be advantageous but is not essential
