The Role

We are looking for an experienced and organised Office Manager to join a well-established construction company in Edinburgh on a fixed-term contract for one year. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the office, providing administrative support to the wider construction and commercial teams and helping to ensure the business operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the office
  • Providing administrative support to site, commercial and management teams
  • Coordinating correspondence, documents and office records
  • Managing incoming calls, emails and general enquiries
  • Assisting with purchase orders, invoices and basic financial administration
  • Maintaining accurate filing and document control systems
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and clients where required
  • Assisting with timesheets, expenses and general staff administration
  • Coordinating meetings, appointments and office requirements
  • Supporting site teams with administrative requirements
  • Ordering office supplies and managing general office facilities
  • Ensuring company procedures and administrative processes are followed
  • Carrying out any other general office and administrative duties required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Office Administrator or similar role
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A proactive and professional approach
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The confidence to communicate with colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Previous experience within the construction industry would be advantageous but is not essential
