A leading UK engineering services contractor is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee / Junior Health & Safety Advisor to join their expanding Health & Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their H&S career to gain hands-on experience across live project environments while working alongside experienced professionals.
This role offers structured development, real site exposure, and long-term career progression within a supportive and people-focused organisation delivering complex engineering and M&E projects.
OverviewAs a Trainee / Junior Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with an experienced H&S Advisor, shadowing them across multiple active construction and engineering sites. You will support site safety operations, assist with compliance activities, and help promote a strong safety culture across project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Shadow and support Health & Safety Advisors on live construction and engineering sites
- Assist with site inspections, audits, and daily/weekly safety checks
- Support the preparation and review of RAMS, site inductions, and toolbox talks
- Help monitor compliance with internal procedures and industry regulations
- Assist with incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up actions
- Engage with site teams and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture
Essential:
- Strong desire to build a long-term career in Health & Safety
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong communication skills
- Ability to travel and work across multiple project sites in London
Desirable:
- CSCS card
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or working towards / interested in obtaining)
- Any prior construction, M&E, engineering, or site-based experience
- Structured development plan with support towards H&S qualifications
