We're supporting a growing, commercially focused business in Bristol with the appointment of a Senior Management Accountant to strengthen their finance function during an important phase of growth and decision-making.
This is a broad, hands-on role combining core month-end ownership with forward looking scenario and "what-if" analysis to support senior stakeholders.
The Role- You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management accounting cycle while playing a key role in helping the business understand performance drivers and future outcomes.
- Full ownership of the month-end close (P&L, balance sheet, journals, accruals, prepayments).
- Preparation and presentation of management accounts with clear commentary.
- Variance analysis vs budget and forecast.
- Building and maintaining scenario models to support commercial and strategic decisions (e.g. sensitivity analysis, cost/investment trade-offs, growth scenarios).
- Working closely with non-finance stakeholders to explain the numbers and implications.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement of reporting.
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Strong management accounting background with solid month-end experience.
- Comfortable with scenario modelling and analytical thinking (not a pure modelling role).
- Commercially minded and able to translate numbers into insight.
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in an SME or growth-oriented environment preferred.
