We’re supporting a privately owned, founder-led SME in Bristol as they look to appoint a Senior Accountant into a broad, commercial exposed finance role. This opportunity will suit a qualified Accountant with experience in an SME or entrepreneurial environment, who enjoys variety ownership and working close to decision makers. The role offers hands-on experience across management and financial accounting. Alongside the chance to partner directly with the founders as the business builds and scales its multiple revenue streams.
The Role
- Ownership of month-end close – journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet control
- Preparation of management accounts with clear insight and commentary
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Supporting statutory accounts and year-end processes
- Commercial analysis across existing and new revenue streams
- Scenario modelling and “what-if” analyses to support growth decisions
- Helping to develop finance processes, controls and reporting as the business scales
This is a true SME role – broad, hands-on and influential.
About You
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Previous experience in an SME, owner-managed or high-growth business preferred
- Strong financial accounting and month-end capability
- Comfortable producing and interpreting management information
- Commercially minded and curious about how value is created
- Confident working in a lean, fast-moving environment
- Happy to operate beyond a narrow job description
