We’re currently supporting a fast-paced, evolving business as they look to appoint a commercially minded finance leader to take ownership of CAPEX, fixed assets and investment governance across the organisation. Initially this role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to start mid/late May. This is far more than a traditional fixed assets role. The position sits at the centre of finance, operations and technology — helping shape how investment decisions are governed, tracked and reported across a complex, growing environment.
You’ll lead the development of robust CAPEX processes and controls from the ground up, partnering closely with commercial finance, operational and senior leadership teams to improve visibility, governance and decision‑making. Key areas of focus include:
- Ownership of fixed asset accounting and CAPEX lifecycle management
- Designing and embedding scalable controls, governance and reporting frameworks
- Reviewing investment business cases and tracking spend against budget
- Driving process improvement, automation and system enhancement
- Partnering cross‑functionally to improve reporting accuracy and commercial insight
- Acting as a key contact for audit and compliance matters
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong experience operating within a complex or scaling business environment. The ideal profile is likely to combine:
- Strong technical accounting understanding around CAPEX/fixed assets
- Process improvement and transformation capability
- Commercial awareness and stakeholder credibility
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to operate at pace
- Confidence building frameworks, controls and reporting processes from scratch
