Our client requires a Sample Management Technician for an 8 month duration initially to work within the Clinical Trials Specimen Management team. You will be responsible for the handling of clinical trials specimens and their associated data, including managing human biological specimens and performing data entry in a laboratory environment (appropriate PPE and H&S training will be provided). Accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility and a willingness to learn and adapt are essential to ensuring that we provide a high level of service to our internal and external clients. All processes will be performed in line with SOPs and appropriate regulatory guidelines and training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receipt, QC checks, labeling and onward processing of Clinical Trials specimens
- Perform accurate data entry into various laboratory information management systems
- Maintain full inventory, tracking of storage specimens while ensuring the integrity of the specimens at all times
- Preparing samples for onward shipment
- Work with samples under varying temperature conditions including dry ice (-80°C) and liquid nitrogen (-196°C)
- Utilise study documentation to aid in problem solving and escalate to senior staff as required
- Perform housekeeping as required to maintain a clean and tidy working environment
- Manage specimen related study documentation including preparation for archiving
- Participate in Quality Audits and inspections of Clinical Trials as prescribed by departmental policies and regulatory agencies
- Guarantee client satisfaction by providing exceptional service to internal customers
- Able to adapt to changing priorities with guidance from senior team members
- Perform all processes in accordance with SOPs and appropriate regulatory guidelines including Good Clinical Practice and Good Documentation Practice
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grade C and above or equivalent
