One of my local government clients is seeking a Web Content Officer to support the continuous improvement of our corporate website and digital presence. What you’ll be doing: * Managing and updating content on the RBKC website and microsites * Ensuring accessibility (WCAG) and usability standards are met across all digital content * Supporting the technical side of CMS usage (e.g., configuration, bug tracking) * Using analytics and feedback to drive improvements * Working with services across the council to ensure content is clear, useful, and aligned with user needs * Applying GDS standards and best practice in digital service design * Contributing to wider digital strategy and content governance What we’re looking for: * Experience in web content management and digital communications * Solid knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., Umbraco, WordPress, Drupal) * Understanding of digital accessibility standards and content design principles * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities * Experience in local government or the public sector is highly desirable What we offer: * Hybrid working (up to 3 days in-office, 2 days remote) * A supportive and collaborative team environment * Opportunity to apply for a permanent role at the end of the contract * A chance to work on public-facing services that impact real lives Shortlisting begins immediately.
