One of my local government clients is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Information Management Officer to support the secure, effective, and transparent handling of information across the Council.

Responsibilities Include:

Managing formal information access requests including Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) enquiries

*

Redacting and applying exemptions in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation

*

Liaising with internal departments, especially Children’s Services, to ensure accurate and lawful data handling

*

Upholding high standards of confidentiality and data protection practices

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience managing SARs, especially relating to Children’s Social Care

*

Working knowledge of UK Data Protection legislation and best practices

*

Prior experience within a local authority or public sector environment

*

Strong communication skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach

*

Comfortable engaging with social workers and service teams regarding redactions and disclosures
