Our client requires an enthusiastic, personable Assistant / Graduate QS working from South-West Leeds for a permanent contract. This role will give an Assistant / Graduate first hand exposure, working alongside a very experienced and professional team, working on large-scale construction projects and with direct interaction with clients, so communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate must be located within a commutable distance of South-West Leeds. Travelling to site(s) and other offices will be a requirement. Hours – 9-5:30, however flexibility will sometimes be required as and when needed. £32,000 to £37,500 depending upon experience.
Role and Responsibilities will include the following, with increased responsibilities as candidate develops:
- Procurement and benchmarking prices.
- Scoping of works and packages.
- Raising s/c orders internally and issuing the orders to suppliers.
- Checking s/c applications and invoices and issuing payment notices.
- Updating the workbooks with s/c orders/ payments and orders and ensuring the forecast cost to complete is accurate.
- Valuing works completed to date and forecasting.
- Flagging any client variations and issuing instructions.
- Raising valuations and invoices.
- Monitoring the forecast for the account, flagging up any variances to budget.
- Settlement of upstream and downstream final accounts.
- Checking and measuring drawings to validate any claims.
- Collating information and submitting client final accounts.
- Checking of contracts and LOI’s to flag up any issues.
- Looking to minimise costs and increase value to maximise on margin.
- We need someone that is keen on maintaining client relationships for a very demanding client.
- Someone that is not afraid to pick up the phone and deal with the demanding supply chain.
