One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Gardener on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Overview:
- To assist in the management, maintenance and development of the Queen’s Park to the highest of standards for the benefit of the public and to ensure specified standards set by the City of London Corporation are maintained.
- To assist all Queen’s Park staff, realise our commitment to protect and conserve Queen’s Park to ensure it continues to enrich the lives of current and future generations.
- To provide support in delivering projects and programmes from the annual work programme and Divisional Plan that contribute towards achieving the four Management Strategy Outcomes.
Main Duties:
- To assist with undertaking daily patrols to provide advice and information to visitors.
- Report and carry out minor repairs where practical e.g. fence repairs, drain/gully clearance, cleaning and updating notice boards.
- To assist with sweeping and maintaining pathways and helping with waste and recycling.
- To assist with cleaning Public Toilets.
- To assist staff with incidents and to provide support enforcing the Park byelaws and preparing written reports on any incidents that occur on the Park to ensure accurate records are kept.
