Are you an experienced and compassionate Paediatric Nurse looking for a rewarding complex care opportunity in Muswell Hill? As a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered provider, Coyle Homecare has been delivering high-quality homecare services across the UK for over 20 years. We are currently seeking confident and dedicated Paediatric Nurses to support a 13-year-old boy with highly complex healthcare needs within his home environment in Muswell Hill. This is a 2:1 package of care, working alongside another nurse or support professional to deliver safe, person-centred care in line with NMC standards and best practice guidelines.

The client presents with:

  • Challenging behaviours
  • Severe global developmental delay
  • Dystonia
  • Dysphagia
  • Severe language and communication disorder
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Suctioning requirements

This role is ideally suited to nurses with substantial experience supporting children and young people with complex neurological and behavioural needs within community or homecare settings.

Key Responsibilities

As a Paediatric Nurse with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality complex care within the family home. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with NMC guidelines
  • Supporting the client with all aspects of daily living and clinical care
  • Monitoring and managing epilepsy and seizure activity safely and effectively
  • Undertaking suctioning and respiratory support as required
  • Supporting with oxygen therapy and nebulisers where required
  • Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies and PMVA techniques
  • Providing safe moving and handling support
  • Working collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and other carers
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and risk assessments
  • Promoting dignity, safety, independence, and wellbeing at all times
  • Escalating concerns appropriately and following safeguarding procedures
  • Delivering high-quality person-centred care within a homecare environment

Key Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Valid NMC registration – RNC/RN Child or Registered Nurse qualification
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs
  • Strong experience managing epilepsy and seizures
  • Experience supporting clients with challenging behaviours
  • Confident with suctioning and airway management
  • Experience working with non-verbal children and learning disabilities
  • PMVA/manual handling training or willingness to undertake training
  • Excellent communication and observational skills
  • Calm, resilient, and confident working within high-dependency environments

Desirable Skills

In addition to the essential requirements, the following experience would be advantageous:

  • Experience supporting children with severe learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of neurological disorders and dystonia
  • Experience supporting clients with dysphagia
  • Experience managing complex behavioural presentations
  • Previous experience working within community or homecare packages
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills

Day shifts: 7:00am – 7:00pm
44–45 hours per week
7 days per week rota
