Are you an experienced and compassionate Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in North London? We are actively seeking dedicated individuals to join our team, to provide essential care and support to children and adults in the comfort of their home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one care to children with complex medical needs in a home or community setting.
- Perform daily clinical tasks including:
- Tracheostomy care & management
- Airway suctioning (oral, nasal, or tracheal)
- Ventilator support (invasive or non-invasive)
- PEG/JEJ tube feeding and medication administration
- Oxygen therapy and nebulisation
- Monitor and document clinical observations such as:
- Respiratory effort
- Oxygen saturations
- Seizure activity
- PEG tolerance and feeding records
- Maintain hygiene, dignity, and comfort through personal care assistance.
- Support play, learning, and emotional development where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with families, case managers, and healthcare professionals.
- Respond to medical emergencies (e.g. respiratory distress, seizures), following care plan protocols and calling 999 if needed.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience in complex care or paediatrics.
- Proven hands-on experience with:
- Tracheostomy care
- Suctioning techniques
- PEG feeding
- Ventilator support
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
- Current mandatory training (e.g., Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
